Tule Wind Power Project

Californians are leading the way to combat climate change by investing in clean, renewable energy sources. Wind energy is key to meeting the state’s renewable energy standards and helping reduce greenhouse gas emissions throughout California. The McCain Valley in eastern San Diego County is a wind-rich area — one of the few places in the County that can support the development of wind energy. Avangrid Renewables would like to be part of San Diego County’s green energy future and is proposing the Tule Wind Power Project. The Latest:

After more than five years of environmental studies, the Department of the Interior has issued federal approval and the California Public Utilities Commission has certified our Environmental Impact Report. Now the County of San Diego will soon be deciding whether wind energy is welcome in San Diego.
